I have lived in the house forever so now one else lived there before us.
The land it was built on was just plain land kangaroos lived on our land before we built our house.
No deaths maybe animals no humans though, um and only our grandma who passed away in the house.
So yeah.

For research I meant for you to look more into the history of the house and the land it sits on. Who lived in the house before your family lived there? What was located on the property before the house was built? Were there any deaths associated with the land? You might have to talk to a local historian.

For me the sighting was a one time only occurence. My Brother has had quite a few ghostly experiences in our house and his girlfriend has had one experience, but from what i have heard from them they where spirit encounters and ghostly humans.
AS one time with My brothers Girlfriend, she was forced to the ground and held there she could not move and then she woke up and could not remember how she got to the place she woke up in, she woke up in a different room in our house. She was freaked from the experience and went to my Brother crying.

But i dont get any experiences except that ghost dog and shadows in the corners of my eye. I am not exacly sure whether it was a creature that looked like a dog but i think it probably was a dog. I have never heard of anything like a creature that looks like a dog.

I am not actually friends with that person anymore so i cant really ask her but at that moment when she had seen it and a month after she had seen it she had never told me she had seen anything like that before.

What do you mean by basic research ?
I have lived in my house since i was born and the only bad thing that happened in here was that my grandma passed away from cancer in one of our rooms. Both my brother and mum have said they felt her presence a week after the death but that was like 5 years ago.

Thanks for your reply : )

Each person's belief about what goes on after death is an individual one. What we try to do on this message forum is share what we have had happen to us. This helps others form their opinions on what will happen.

I tend to use logic to ascertain what might happen to me and my pets after we have shed our earthly shells. My own personal belief is that after we die, we are asleep until we are reborn into a new body. That is why we cannot remember "the other side". If we do have a memory then it is of a past life (the part about after death is not there). That also explains why animals have greater instincts than us humans do - their memories may not be erased at rebirth.

I love all of my pets and have had many favorite ones die. I too would like to think they liked living with me enough to come back in another life, but I am also a realist. If that former pet also wanted to have a different type of life in another county with either someone to take care of it or just as a wild/feral animal, then who am I to say it could not. No human can "own" anything, because they did not create it.

Do yourself a favor and quit worrying about what happens "after", just enjoy the company of your cat today. Read and learn more about other people's experiences with life after death and develop your own personal beliefs and not follow any one single religion. Life is the greatest teacher.

That's a tough one. You would need to know if the sighting was a one time only occurrence or a repeat. I would do some research into the house and surrounding area. Questions I would ask myself would be, did it look like a dog or a creature that looked similar to a dog? I would also ask your friend if they have ever seen anything like it before then or since then.

You just need to do some basic research.

 If not reincarnated...

OK, I really want to belive that my beloved cat (she is still alive, but I do not think she will for long time) will be reincarnated and will come to me in this life at least once again. And also I belive I will recognize her, and we will live happly again..

But I have one question: This is fact not all of the pets will reincornate, and even if they will, eventualy they will die again. So once I am dead will I be able to find her again? How do you think is the place where we humans are going is the same as the place they are going. I want to belive that we will have another chance in afterlife. I want to believe we will be familly once again ;)

 Ghostly Dog

I was wondering if any one could help by possible explaining why i saw this ghost and what exactly it could mean.

I don't see ghosts much but sometimes i glimpse shadows from corners of my eyes.

But i had a friend sleep over one day, all of a sudden at around 12pm the lights turned off, on, off. and my friend started crying hysterically laughing with tears she was totally freaked and pointed up on top of our fridge where a vase of flowers where.

I looked up to see what she was pointing at and a black ghostly big type dogs head with a bit of shoulders showing, was looking at us with the mouth open in like a doggy grin sorta thing not sure exactly, I was scared for my friend she was totally hysterical, then my friend got up and screamed i look at her then back to the ghost it was not there.

Was it attached to her, ? what do you think ? as i have never seen anything like it and she saw it too and still remembers to this day.

Happened about 1 year - 2 years ago, I have never been much for seeing ghosts but my brother has had many encounters with ghosts. If you need anymore details about anything message me

I pondered this thick and smoky image as I drove onward. The impression I had recieved was mental and not visual. The description was... bear. Inexplicably, it suggested Ursus to me.

I suppose your thoughts about the human eye not being reliable in twilight may be relevant here...

What you just described sounded very much like a dust devil at dusk. They appear dark, almost black and disappear as rapidly as they form.

Yes you are quite right, the human eye can play tricks on us under low light conditions. The human eye does not see well in the dark.

So I see stuff, all the time. Seriously, most of the time I try to ignore it.
Heres the story about when I used to rent this one house, Im pretty sure there were several things there...
When i saw the house last year i fell in love with it. 11 acres, it was an old farm house, had a tractor barn and a garage/house thing and a half tore down chicken coup. My mom and I rented it. She got the downstairs room, i got the "upstairs room", it was the attic with half of it walled off and had a small 4 X 4 hatch/door thing in the middle of one of the doors. It had an opening to the very top of the house(i never went up there, It had a round window) I wasn't really sure how you were supposed to get up there, it had no stairs and the opening was right above the stairs to my room. The house was super cold, It had no heater or ac. I looked it up just now, and it was built in 1910. The house felt like home, but at times it was just freaking scary as hell. I turned the side of the garage/house into my goat pens and used the garage portion as my hay storage and storage for our cars. I was always got a creepy feeling like i was being watched while i was out messing with the goats. My moms bf told me later that he saw a woman in a long old style wedding dress watching him while he fed my goats for me once, I never saw her.
We also had a light ghost that loved to play with this one light, even when we un plugged the lamp,(hes at my new house but he dosent bother me)
My room was the only place that was very secure feeling. I use the word room lightly, It had only enough space for my mattress on the room and a little closet that was only the size of a porta-potty. The closet was freaky. I once woke up to hear my closet door slamming shut then scratching on the wood, so i called my moms bf(i was to scared to yell) and he came up with a knife in his hand(thinking it was a rat or something, yeah we're oakie) opened up my closet and dug around, there was nothing there, only scratch marks in the wood floor. That creeper out steven(moms bf) too. The scratches were about fingernail size, not like animal finger nail size either.
Anyway, when we first moved in I was un-comftorble in my room, but eventually i settled in. It was just a little odd that not even the cats would go up to my room. I woke up one night feeling like someone was watching me, I looked down at the foot of my bed, there was an Amish looking man kind of standing there(i couldnt see his feet) watching me. It wasnt creepy he was just watching over me, so i went back to sleep completely at ease. In the morning i told my mom about my "Amish guy", she believed me(this is when i found out that she also believes in the paranormal). I had other times where I felt my guy, but didnt see him. There was also something else in that room that was very un-friendly. The whole feeling of the room would change. One morning that feeling happened while i was getting dressed. I told it to go away i want scared. I kept getting dresses and it shoved me into my wall so hard that i fell down. I continued to calmly get dressed then slowly walked down the stairs, It then shoved me in the middle of my back and i fell down the stairs. After that I tore out of the house and didnt come home till my mom was home. When i went back in my room it felt like normal again.
Thats just some of the stuff that happened. We moved out of the house(landlord problems), however we are looking at buying the property. I feel strangely drawn towards the house, and so does my mom. We are talking about me converting the garage into my own house. However I would still like to get rid of the other thing that lives on the third floor. I tried to pray to God about it, but the thing was still there when we left. Steven suggested a Ouija board, however I refuse to touch one of those, I dont feel like its a good thing. any ideas??

I also cant look into mirrors or any reflective surfaces because i see things in them, That sounds crazy I know but im serious! Not all i see is bad but most of it is. I seem to attract negative energies. Im really not sure how to stop it. Most of the time when my Uncle Bud is around things are ok, but hes not always here with me.(I believe he is my guardian angel. He passed when I was about 10 years old).

One interesting experience was when i was at a friends house. She was in Florida and I was house and goat sitting for her. Stuff would move around, it was only her stuff, not mine. I would also smell ciggs on the front porch and i was the only person at the house or around(she lives in the country). When she got home I told her about that stuff and she casually replied "Oh, that Bruce" I asked her who that was and it turns out that her late husband comes by to look in on her and the house, I thouht that was kinda nice :)

I have may other things that have happened but I do believe That this post is long enough! Thanks for listing!

Thank you for your ing. I am OK. It happens every night. I live alone so there is nobody to verify my cats. I don't need proof. They are there. One purred in my ear last night. I am not crazy. I have been a paralegal for decades. I think these animals died here during Hurricane Katrina, and they sense that I love them. I doesn't scare me anymore. They just want to curl up with me and sleep. No scratching or poltergeist activity. If so, I will deal with it. I live in New Orleans. I worked in Washington DC after Katrina for 3 years. Now I'm back. I think cats are glad I'm back too.

I would start a journal of your daily experiences. Jot down the time and what happened. You may find there is cause and effect factor.

Try to get someone else to verify the "cats". Take videos or pictures of your bed where the cats might be present. Get some tangible proof for you own sake. I would hate to think that you were having a psychotic episode.

I personally would not worry about the presence of the "cats" unless they started to scratch and leave marks. At that point they are more like a poltergeist which is an entity that was never born and are commonly known as demons.

 comforting ghost cats
« Result #16 on Aug 24, 2009, 7:13pm »

Hi, I have had cats most of my life. I was forced to give up my last cat because my brother was very allergic to them. I gave him to my ex-husband. Miko promptly ran off. Sometimes Miko would come back and stare at my ex, but would not go up to him. I believe Miko was lost in Hurricane Katrina.

In March of this year I move back to New Orleans. Around June, I started having experiences, but thought I was dreaming. Until the experiences started happening when I am wide awake laying in my bed.

There seems to be about 2 cats. I know exactly how it feels when a cat jumps on my bed. I started experiencing that. Then I felt weight like a cat was cuddled up on my feet or legs. First, the weight would go away when I would fully sense them, later I would have to try to look at them and there was nothing. Saturday, I was wide awake. Two cats had jumped on my bed. A cat was laying on my feet, another had walked past my head. I move my hands to my cell phone and made other little movements. The soft weight stayed. When I got up, the weight disappeared.

I have felt soft steps on my bed many times. Once there was a paw pressed against my note. Very soft, very sweet, no claws.

I don't know if these are some of my deceased cats or ones who died here during Katrina. I deeply loved all my cats and could pretty well know what some of them were thinking, but didn't think anything about it. These cats seem to want to comfort me. There is nothing scary about it. I cannot see them, but I can feel them. I wish they would let me pet them.

I am a college graduate, a paralegal, a mother, and a grandmother. I had some paranormal experiences, but this one is happening just about every day.

My name is Jen and I'm the Producer on a new show for Animal Planet...based on the very topic that you've been discussing here! Picture Shack Entertainment, (responsible for A&E shows “Paranormal State” and “Psychic Kids”) is currently in production on a new series for Animal Planet that will focus on paranormal cases involving animals as part of the story.

Animals are commonly thought to be more sensitive to paranormal activity than humans. Both in this world and beyond, animals have often been the focus of spirit encounters.

I would love to chat with people who think their animals are especially sensitive to spiritual activity, or anyone who feels that they have been visited by a beloved pet who has passed on. We'd love to hear all of your stories!

A few years back I was seeing a guy who's mom lived quite far up North Huntsville Ontario. She lived alone in a house her grandparents built and surrounded by miles and miles of land. Through out the year we would make the long drive up and visit with her and my boyfriends brother his wife and their younger sister. I loved being there with the quiet and the trees .
His mom owned 2 large dogs, Cody was a beautiful mix of wolf and Akita. Kodiak was her baby and now fully grown. I would spend many hours walking within the trees with Cody by my side and I always felt sad when it was time to leave. I knew we would be back at Christmas and winter up there was stunning.
IT was Christmas eve and after loading the car with gifts we began the 3 hour drive up north. As we arrived at about 11 pm and pulled in to the long driveway approaching the house, there as always sat Cody and Kodiak ready to greet us. Both my bf and i had are arms full with gifts and suitcases trudged are way through the snow to the front door. Cody was moving all around and as she reached my side i reached out and gave her a pat and told her to move so we could get in the house. She moved and we went in. Soon after we put down the gifts and said are hellos to the family, we all retired to the living room for something warm and to catch up on each of are lives. It was then that his mother revealed to my bf and me that Cody had become quite ill and because of her age had to be put down. I stared at her, than at my bf who also had a look of confusion on his face. I protested that if this was a joke it wasn't funny, and explained that i had just seen her outside and even gave her a pat, my bf backed me up. But is was true Cody had died two weeks before. My bf mom in a quiet voice said she came to say good bye. I never saw her again but i knew in my heart that i would never forget her or the Christmas eve she choose to return from a place beyond and say good bye.

you just may be more sensitive to seeing spirits and there not as sensitive or it was a real wolf and you just happen to see it but they didn't.

Deaths in a house will cause unusual goings on. The last house I lived in had 2 people die in it. I experienced way too many supernatural occurrences in that house.

If you live in the USA and try to sell your home you have to disclose wither anyone has died in the home in the last 5 years. Apparently the real estate professionals believe in ghosts.

Actually it could have been real. Horses get out of their confines all the time. I have seen loose horses in freeways, in parks and wandering down city streets. Seen cattle out too.

Several years ago, when I was alone in my parents' house, I was ironing a blouse in the basement and heard heavy footsteps cross the ceiling overhead. I know the doors were locked and I was alone in the house: my parents were gone for the summer and I and another girl (renting a basement apartment) were staying in the house, and we were careful about security. The other girl was at work at the time.

Later, that evening, I met the other girl living in the house at a restaurant. I could see she was scared when she came in. After I had left the house (after looking around to make sure no one was there), she had come home and gone to her room in the basement to change clothes. She heard the same thing!

We found out later that someone had been murdered in the house. I never heard anything else but sometimes had an uneasy feeling.

My husband and I visited a supposedly haunted house in Old Town San Diego a few years ago. I didn't sense anything, but my husband, who is quite psychic, did. He felt coldness in several of the rooms.

Interestingly, when we went to Edgefield, outside Portland, Oregon, which is a former poor farm and mental hospital turned into a restaurant, he could feel "people" hovering around in despair. They vanished when the waiter came.

My current cat Murphy sits just like a previous cat did - with one hip thrust out. It's not a defect (vets looked at both animals) but very unusual. I think Murphy may be Dylan come back to me. But he makes me think of a cat I had years before Dylan, too. Could the same cat keep coming back to me?

One time I was visiting a friend and brought my cat. He had two cats. One night, we were in the living room talking, and the three cats were in there, too. Suddenly, they all sat up and turned their heads in unison toward the hall and "watched" (turning their heads to follow it) something come from the hall through the living room.

I had a kitten (later) in my old house in Oregon who got very nervous several times when he first came to live with me (This is the same house I later saw the shadow cat). He would seem to see things that I couldn't. After a while, he seemed to settle down.

I once saw a wolf cross the road - an old country road in Minnesota. There was no other traffic. The wolf crossed the road in front of the car and disappeared when it got to the ditch on the other side. I was driving, and the other two people in the car didn't see anything.

How can this be?

I once saw a ghost horse standing on the side of a busy highway - like right next to the pavement. It was all white and looked at me as I passed in the car.

It could have been real, but considering the location, I don't think so.

Any ideas?

I usually see solid animals that look real (I say usually - twice!), but once I saw a shadow of a cat walk from one side of my sunporch windows to the other. It was afternoon, and the blinds were closed against the sun. There is no way a real cat could have been outside the blinds casting a shadow unless he walked in midair, as the porch was 20 feet from the ground with almost no window ledge. and no way to get on it if there was. My own cats were both sleeping.

Anyone have any ideas about this and why I saw it?

That has to do with training and a horse spooking at something odd. I have 6 horses and every one of them will react differently out on trail to an encounter with an odd shaped tree or rock. I have one AQHA that doesn't mind cattle but spooks at cow dung (the smell is what sets him off).

You will have better luck if you ride with someone else that has a horse that does not spook at the mounds. Your horse will learn not to be afraid of the mounds from the other horse faster than you constantly working on de-spooking your horse.

Your horse's acting up probably has very little to do with the supernatural world.

I would just treat the horse as your own personal warning system. As you stated something bad is about to happen. I would take precautions that would keep your horses, pets and family safe. Since you don't know what exactly is going to happen then I am afraid there is not much you can do about it.

I have visited a place and even was allowed to stay the night at a airplane boneyard. I can't remember what it was called but I took a picture of the center of the yard to help me remember what it looked like in the dark. When I had the picture developed you can see the faint outline of a man in uniform standing in the dead center. I was staying in a old war plane and twice the heavy cargo door kept opening and closing I didn't sleep well at all that night.

I had a dog that acted the same exact way as a dog that i had when I was 12. He nudges me in the same place when he needed to go out, barked at a "special" corner in the house, begs the same way and even sound the same. The dog I had when I was 12 was a Fawn Great Dane and the dog I have who sadly just recently passed on was a rotti mix.

When I ride my 15 year old bay danish warmblood on a trail through the woods she will suddenly bulk when we hit this odd clearing that has a bunch of mounds in it. I almost always have to dismount and force her to move down the trail. As soon as we are away from that spot she is completely fine. My other horses do the same thing only she is the worst. What should I do about it?

 Devil Horse or Coincedence
« Result #41 on Jul 1, 2009, 6:07pm »

I have seen a coal black horse with flaming eyes appear and then as soon as it looks at me it vanishes. Everytime it appears something bad happens. The first time it appeared my 30 year old mom died in her sleep for no reason. Then the second time it appeared 4 of my horse went missing 2 were found dead 6 miles away and the other two were found by my neighbors. The third time it appeared my 10month old puppy got hit by a car and died. The fourth and most recent time it appeared I was jumping my 9 year old danish warmblood and as he came off the final jump his cannon bone in his front leg shattered into 13 pieces and he had to be put down. This has happened all within a few months of each other so is this ghost horse a horse who harbors death and sorrow or is it a coincedence? What should I do i don't want to lose any mor of my loved ones or my 19 remaining horses.

Why would you think that your cat is not "at rest" if it chooses to visit you? It seems you might have some of the old Christian teachings of death as being "asleep" stuck in your head. Now you have proof that death is not "at rest" but some other reality that we do not understand yet.

Your cat is merely trying to let you know that he is OK and you don't have to struggle with his death. Remember that one day you and everyone else will find out what death really is all about. Your cat is telling you it is nothing to fear and that feelings and love go on after death.

My old cat hasn't left yet
« Result #44 on May 23, 2009, 1:32am »

On April 23rd this year I had to put down my old cat Jamile. He had been with me for 17 years. A couple of days after I had just got into bed and I felt a cat walking across the foot of my bed shortly after. I have three other cats still, so I figured it was one of them. I reached down to see who it was only to find nothing. I dismissed this figuring I just missed him.

Then it happened again about a week later. I was kneeling on the bed with my arms on the window sill, watching the birds in my yard, when I felt the same light steps moving around my feet. I reached back and again, nothing. This has continued to happen about once or twice a week. I finally got online to see if anyone else has had the same thing happen to them. Glad to see I'm not alone.

I'm truly hoping this is just a residual haunting. I get a lump in my throat just thinking about it. I hated having to help him die, but the thought that he is not at rest seems almost worse.

That is the first time I have heard of ghost insects but then again I believe that anything is possible. The size of the spiders might be more of the 10 million years ago type. Of course there is no reason why a human ghost could not manifest as another type of creature.

Can you have ghost insects??
Sounds wierd, but when my wife was pregnant she took a drug for morning sickness and shortly after saw these large spiders on the roof of our bedroom.
They were translucent, clear like water, big and small like football size down to golfball size and seemed not to notice her and go about their buisness..
She stopped taking the tablets right then!
I lauged, but a few nights ago we had a wrestless night with my son waking up all night.
I had been dreaming and sat up quickly in bed.
At that split second I swear I saw 2 big dragonfly or moth like insects flying from the well lit hallway into our dark room.
I even ducked but they just seemed to dissapear (or I snapped out of it).
So, just wondering - any thoughts - and yes "NO DRUGS / MEDICINE INVOLVED".

 Ghost Horses
« Result #49 on May 19, 2009, 1:41am »

About 2 years ago me and my friends Daisy,Elise, and Katelyn were at the ranch we board at with our mothers and couple other people at 11pm.Mine and Elise's moms were in the stall with a mare named June that was very sick with West Nile
and hurt, because earlier that day the vet had to take out her foal early because if she had the baby she would not have enough energy or strength to live, so the foal died, the vet accidentally cut her but he didn't know and then later around 10:45pm she started bleeding, but my mom put her hand on the cut to stop the bleeding while someone called the vet. After a while we went over to the western arena to get away from all the blood and noise. Then we saw about 20 ghost horses running around the arena!Three of them caught our eye...a little foal that was standing by one of the barrels that looked just like June's dead foal! Then there was a big black Frisian with glowing blood red eyes, and a gray Arabian that was looking at us and looked just like a mare named Princess I had when I was little but we had to put her down,I called her name and the horse start walking toward us.Then when the vet came and took care of June's cut they all disappeared. When we went there the next day there were hoof prints all over the arena and some of them were where the gray horse had been and lead to were we were standing the night before. We think they were there because they thought June was going to die, but the vet saved her so they left.

:) On May 6, 2009 at 330pm we had to put my boyfriends dog of 7 yrs old to sleep as Zeus had a intestional blockage we couldnt afford the cost of the surgery to fix. and just as the vet gave him the shot to put him out of his misery i told Zeus who is a bull mastiff where ever we were at he was welcomed to come back to visit..

wed nite was rough on my boyfriend .. him and Zeus were together for 5 yrs. through out wed nite bill said he heard zeus walking across the kitchen floor.. we heard him flapping his ears when he wanted to go out when he was alive ..

then thurs nite was the thriller, we were sitting down in the upper front room watching tv when i heard this noise in the lower front room and there are 2 loveseats downstairs.. the white loveseat cushion was up at 45 degree angle thats what my b/f said so i went downstairs and fixed the cushion and threw zeus's favorite blanket back up on it , put food in his dish and put his water bowl downstairs.. with a nite lite as he used to eat all the time in the downstairs front room..

woke up at 706am and found the blanket off of the upstairs sofa on the floor, and then checked downstairs and seen the blanket partially off of the loveseat and his food btw his dish and the wall as he used to rut his food.. and his water bowl? had traces of his slobber in it..

plus the boyfriend just said all 3 nitelights were out when he came down this morning to get something to eat.. how rare is that for 3 brand new nite lights to go out at the same time?

i have a video cam i am gonna set up tonite in the computer room to see if it can pick up zeus's aura / spirt or even zeus and go from there..

i believe in animals coming back to visit their owners they loved in their former life..
