So, do you people really believe in animals reincarnating and somehow returning to the people who loved them? Or do you find it far-fetched?

I believe and in fact I do believe that one of my horses has returned to me. It is not something that I can prove it is just a feeling, a connection that is the same as the horse that died. The horse behaves and has the same habits as the deceased horse and they were both raised by different breeders.

OK, that's good to know.
I wouldn't know what to answer. Haven't experienced anything like that. But who knows, perhaps some day my beloved dog will return to me if that's the way nature works.

Unfortunetly, I myself, do not believe in reincarnation. But what I believe is that the it can happen to the people who DO believe in reincarnation. So do I think it's real, i'm on ends, do I believe in it as somewhat a religion, no. But I've heard some very convincing stories, and I do believe it has happened to those people by some connection or bond.

I don't know. I don't think that it's possible for people, but for animals I want to think so.
Anybody else have a feeling that one of your animals is trying to get back to you?
Ever since my girl Sally had to be put down I've felt her near me trying to get back. I love all my animals, but she was extra special. She was family. With her it was almost like I was supposed to have a sister but she was born a dog instead of a human. I am always looking for her. I am certain I would instantly know her if I saw her.

I am a very strong believer in reincarnation for both humans and animals. I am not so egotistical to believe that we are any different from animals both physically or spiritually.

Well, I obviously believe that animals have souls or I wouldn't be here. :3 I just think that the rules might apply differently to animals since they have no right or wrong, only survival. I certainly don't think that humans are better than animals. On the contrary, I like animals much more than I like most people. I was raised Baptist and still believe myself to be an independent Christian. (I see things a little bit differently than most denominations.) I like to think that there is order and justice in the universe and there are different consequences for different actions. In my mind, I just don't see how the exact same fate can come to my beloved dog Sally that comes to rapists and murderers. I can't justify in my mind how Hitler could be given a fresh start without answering for what he has done.
But that's just how my mind works. I guess there's no way to really know what happens, so I like to be open to all ideas. ^^

I have seen first hand animals killing for fun, so animals just killing for the survival theory might have some holes in it. I have seen a pack of dogs turn on one of their own and rip it to shreds for no appearant reason. I have also seen countless domestic cats hunt mice, rats and birds only for the thrill of the kill and then leave the dead body.
I was also raised as a Christian but in reality who am I to say that "God" is even a human type of form or intellect?

Oh I'm not saying that animals are inherently free of evil actions, I just am not sure that they can choose their behavior based on a moral value of right and wrong. Maybe they can. Like I said, I don't know. ^^
I never said that I think God is similar to humans in form or spirit, in fact, I don't think that at all. My personal beliefs differ greatly from most Christians.
Because it is something personal and different from what most people believe, I don't tend to discuss my spirituality very much, but when I do it is only to clarify my reasons for what I think, not to change anyone's mind. I'm not out to convince anybody to believe what I do. There is no reason why everyone has to believe the same thing. I would rather peaceably differ on some points and welcome a free exchange of ideas rather than shut out new information that doesn't fit into my system.

I had a dog that acted the same exact way as a dog that i had when I was 12. He nudges me in the same place when he needed to go out, barked at a "special" corner in the house, begs the same way and even sound the same. The dog I had when I was 12 was a Fawn Great Dane and the dog I have who sadly just recently passed on was a rotti mix.

My current cat Murphy sits just like a previous cat did - with one hip thrust out. It's not a defect (vets looked at both animals) but very unusual. I think Murphy may be Dylan come back to me. But he makes me think of a cat I had years before Dylan, too. Could the same cat keep coming back to me?
