:'(A couple of summers ago i had to have my beloved Jiffy POP put down due to cancer. He was in his later 30's, so the vet said.
He was my friend and my companion and my legs when i needed to go places. He was my Quarter Horse that i rescued from a auction and he was a delight to have as a friend. He would nudge me in the back as if to say hi mate. And he would hang his head over my sholder and stand there for ever if i let him.We would ride together on trailes and I never ask more of him than he was willing to give and he took great care of me.I have knee problems and so my knees lock up from time to time and when i got on Jiffy i stayed on Jiffy,as he was not a small horse. But he took great care fo me and never shyed or bolter or did anything that some other horses might do if coming in contact with wildlife.Yet he was still a horse and would bang his hoof on the lower pipe rail and whinny-snort for his food.Well this past summer,I had been in his old run working on the fence, and i felt a nudge on my back.Thinking one of the pony's had gotten in there with me,i told it to back off and let me finish.I fet the nudge again, this time more insistant.i looked around and there was no one in the run with me.
Also after this while i am feeding i will hear a banging like a hoof hitting a pipe coming from around to where his run was and a winny like sound.i have went around to see if one of the other horses or pony's were there,if someone had put one there and no other horse would be there.I have also heard the Jingle of a bridle and the creak of saddle leather like on a horse at the hitching post.i feel this is jiffy, come back to keep check on me.I am not affraid of him or any other spirit which i might meet as i have seen and heard many others.I just am glad he is not in pain anymore and knows i did love and care for him.
Picture of Jiffy about 6-8 months before we lost him to Cancer.
