Hi! I'm new to this group. I have been experiencing some odd occurrences and a friend prompted me to look on-line for others with similar stories.
I have lived in my house for 5 years. I have owned and lost 6 dogs to untimely and odd deaths. My first two "escaped" from a ceder fence that had padlocked gates and no holes, and they were hit by a car that didn't stop. One lady chased down their killer and the person was fined and had to pay for Princeton and Ellie's adoption fee. We chose to bury them at home. 5 days later, my in-laws bought us a Pug named Ozzy. He passed away 8 days later from Pug Dog Encephalitis.
We later adopted Princess and Ein. They were with us the longest (almost 2 years), and a stray pug, Tohru, came soon after to join our family. Everything was fine until Precious got out somehow. It was strange that she was the largest (still no holes in our fence) but the others didn't. Ein, our Corgi, and Tohru died a few weeks later. They were cleared of any diseases or poisons by a local vet. Our neighbors dogs are fine.
What makes my situation "special" is that I still hear them. I have tried to tell people, but they say that it's just me wishing they were here. I can hear Ein's jingling tags when she would pace in front of my back door, and I can hear their barking when people drive down the alley. Each of my dogs had a different bark from my neighbors animals, so I'm not confusing the barks. One of my neighbors said that he doesn't believe in ghosts, but when he was going out to start his truck (that's right by where the dogs would sleep) he heard Precious growl at him, and could almost make out her outline behind the fence, like she was guarding the gate. He told me the leaves were rustling and moving like she was pacing and watching him.
I haven't told many people because they think I'm *crazy* because of what they see on TV, but I know what I hear. I personally think they are still with my to protect me (and now my infant) when my husband is gone.
I am so happy that I found this site! Thank you for giving me a place to share my story
