Hi, I'm new. Have a story to share.
When I was very young my parents used to take me to the Ellen Trout zoo which was about an hour away from my house. I was always drawn to the predators. The big cats and wolves in particular. I would spend hours at the wolf exhibit. There was one girl in particular that I really bonded with. When I stood at the glass she always came over and tried to lick me through the pane(a wolf's expression of respect and acceptance). I wanted to reach her so badly and I think by the way she acted she felt the same. I was so young I think she thought of me as her puppy. Sever months went by without a zoo visit and one night I woke up and needed to go to the bathroom. When I stepped into the hall, there was a wolf there. It didn't move or make a noise, it was just standing there watching me. I yelped in surprise because it startled me. We didn't have any inside animals so it could not have been a pet. It was gone in an instant and when my parents heard me and came out I told them I saw a spider because I didn't want them to think I was crazy. The next time I visited the zoo the wolves were all gone. I heard from somebody that parvo or distemper or something had come through the pack like wildfire and killed every one. I know this sounds like a stupid campfire story, but this is just what happened. Take it or leave it. I'm convinced it was "my" girl coming to say goodbye to me finally without that glass between us.
That experience had such an impact on me that when I finished school I spent a couple summers living and volunteering at Mission:Wolf in Colorado. The owners of the sanctuary swear that some of the wolves who have passed on there are still around. They talk about one that runs through the guest tee-pees at night and another that they can hear crunching on a bone behind the outhouse.

It was definitely an interesting experience. I have never had any human spirit encounters, but that was so vivid it stuck with me all this time. That was nearly 20 years ago. I'd love to think she was still around watching over me. Either way, ghost or hallucination, that girl certainly had an impact on my life. On a slightly different note, I met a friend at Mission:Wolf who was a wildlife biology major and a practicing pagan. She collected bones for her classes and for independent study. She claimed that the spirits of several animals took a liking to her when she collected their bones and paid her respects. One dog in particular that she found looked like it had been abused before its death. She told me she felt like his spirit started following her around because she was the first human that treated him with kindness and dignity. (Even though he had already passed on.)

I once saw a wolf cross the road - an old country road in Minnesota. There was no other traffic. The wolf crossed the road in front of the car and disappeared when it got to the ditch on the other side. I was driving, and the other two people in the car didn't see anything.
How can this be?

you just may be more sensitive to seeing spirits and there not as sensitive or it was a real wolf and you just happen to see it but they didn't.

My name is Jen and I'm the Producer on a new show for Animal Planet...based on the very topic that you've been discussing here! Picture Shack Entertainment, (responsible for A&E shows “Paranormal State” and “Psychic Kids”) is currently in production on a new series for Animal Planet that will focus on paranormal cases involving animals as part of the story.
Animals are commonly thought to be more sensitive to paranormal activity than humans. Both in this world and beyond, animals have often been the focus of spirit encounters.
I would love to chat with people who think their animals are especially sensitive to spiritual activity, or anyone who feels that they have been visited by a beloved pet who has passed on. We'd love to hear all of your stories!
Please contact me with any questions or stories to share! jen.gsell@pictureshackentertainment.com Thanks! Look forward to speaking with you soon!

rebecool, It could have been your hamster.. I believe all animals have souls- including the small ones like chipmunks and hamsters and birds. This is why I believe in saying a prayer for any dead animal I see laying on the road or hunted to death. I had an experience with my dog, Mandi- coming back to visit months after her death- I couldnt see her, but I heard her howl twice- then I felt her come right up to me while I was laying in bed- and she licked my face. I will never forget that.
That is horrible that you experienced that -- with some entity grabbing your hands. Something like that happened to me while I was dreaming when I was very young. I couldnt scream or move. I dont think you were just dreaming though- There are negative entities out there that try to make us afraid beause they feed off of fear. What I did was ask God to send me protection and to chase anything negative away from me- Also- keep your room clean and try to raise the vibration of your room by adding only positive things there . Nothing dark- wether its your room decorations or what shows or music you listen to-- keep everything positive in your room. Also ask that Archangel Michael can guard you. I'll say a prayer for you too.

Eagle, While I know that your intentions are good in telling rebecool to have a clean room and pray, I must say that you should not be scaring a child with talk of negative spirits. She is sensitive to spirits. Just because we do not understand something does not mean it is evil.
While on the subject of "good and evil" I must also add that not everyone on this board or visits this board is a Christian. You are free to tell others what you have found helpful to you but please refrain from telling others what they should do in a religious context. If they want more information they are free to send you a private message.
