My husband and I just bought a house, and we are experiencing a ghost dog.
1st experience - I saw an orb of white move across the room. I thought I was seeing things at the time.
2nd experience - I felt an animal jump on my bed. I thought it was my cat, but when i looked, nothing was there.
3rd- This one is undeniable. My husband and I were sitting on the couch. The dog kennel is behind us and we heard our dog bark. Immediately after, we heard a distinctly different bark come from the kitchen. There is no way it was from outside. We just looked at each other, and he said, "How did a dog get in?" We stood up and searched. Our dog was the only one, and she was locked in her kennel.
4th - Last night , we heard a dog bark. Lucy is a puppy, so she usually barks around 3 am. My husband got up and she was sound asleep (normally she is ready to go). We checked the clock and it was only 1:30 am. She didn't want to leave her cage. Maybe she was sleep barking, but i don't know... And of course she woke us up at her normal time to go out.
Any thoughts? Are we crazy?

No you are not crazy. I have had something similar happen to me but with a cat. Our own cat died at the vets office and I bought her body home for burial. For about a month after her death both my husband and I heard the cats meows in the house. She was our only cat at the time. Even though we both heard her meows we did not tell each other for another month. We were both afraid that the other person would think us crazy. Once we talked about the meows and the feeling that our cat was still in the house, the meowing stopped. We both thought that she was trying to tell us that she was OK and wanted us to talk about her.
As to you situation with a strange dog, was there a dog in your past? Have you researched the house to find out its past? Do you have any ideas or feelings on the visits? Usually a hunch or gut feeling is all we have to go on, add a little research and you might come up with some answers.

Thankyou for you reply.
My childhood dog died about three years ago, but i don't really feel that it is him. My husband has been reminiscing about his many childhood dogs, but he also can't pin-point any specific dog it might be.
The previous owner of the house died at an "early age" of 50-60. I'm not sure how, but i know it wasn't in the house. We don't know if he had any pets. This is all the research we feel we can do because we saw how upset the family member was signing the final papers. We don't want to upset her more by asking questions.
I guess we will just have to wait to see if anything else happens and learn to love our new ghost dog!
