My husband and I went to Gettysburg to celebrate an anniversary. We stayed at various B&B's, most were reportedly haunted. When I booked our trip I had no idea this area was haunted.
Upon return my husband went to work (24 hr shift) and I was alone in the house only to hear the garage door open in the basement, it was an electric door. I became concerned and went to my neighbor's house and got my neighbor to come over. He and I went over every inch of the house and locked it up tight. That night I awakened to the sound of my dog, snarling and growling beside my bed, totally out of character. Then the sound of the garage door opening. I became very concerned and shoved a chair under the door thinking that somehow someone had entered the house. No other sound came. I drifted off to sleep again and was awakened again by my dog exhibiting the same behavior..seconds later the garage door closed.
There was no way it could have been opened by any other force. Since then we have moved from that house only to have the central vac spontaneously turn on at the new house, not once but three times. We have sightings in the barn. My dog has not behaved in that manor since the incident.

Animals, for some reason seem to be able to sense things that we can't, like fear or sadness. Matbe thats why they sense ghosts, beacause many are sad or scared. My dog has before pricked up her ears when there is noone there.

Animals of course have never been told that there is no such thing as ghosts so they see what they see.

I used to have an Airedale that used to sit happily looking up at a window from time to time and wagging its tail as if someone was looking in. Which was odd as that particular window has been bricked up for many many years.

I had a house cat for 20 yrs. I got her around a yr old. she died a few days ago at age 21. after she died my ohter house cat age 1 yr began acting strange. For instance when my 21 yr old cat was alive I would open a can of tuna and because she was old and like my own child she ate the tuna first and wahtever she left the other cat ate. Well, after she died, I opened a can of tuna for my other cat. he began eating and suddently stopped, bowed his head down, and screnched up his eyes like he was gonna be hit. I found it odd because when my old cat snuckums was alive if he began to eat the tuna while she was there eating i would smack him a little to wait his turn. It was if he saw her sitting there and was waiting his smack. but the cat is deceast so of course she wasnt there unless her spirit was there and he could see her where I cant. I know that cats, dogs and other animals can see spirits. Then the next day my 1 yr old cat began acting completely out of character as thought it wasnt him. It scared my son and he came got me and siad something is wrong with smokey. He said smokey scares him. so I went to see and the cat scared me as well. he was acting like my ohter cat use to when she was younger. Now smokey never ever done that before. He is a lazy cat that sleeps all day, never plays...just sleeps and I have had him since he was 6 weeks old. now a yr or so old so I know his personality and his actions that night was definately opposite of who he is. Makes me wonder if my deceast cat was somehow in him for a short period of time. I wanted to call him her name but I didnt. I just watched in disbelief. I was scared of my own cat for his crazy weird odd behavior that night. Has Anyone ever experienced such a thing where it looks as though a deceast pet took over the body of anohter pet even for short period of time?

I'm a Paranormal Investigator and things often follow me home after an investigation. My blue heeler, Kinsley, always makes sure I know that they are there. For example: Just a couple of days ago, I was up late watching tv and I heard her growl. Looking over, I saw that she was staring at the hall closet, her hair standing on end. Used to it, I brushed it off. A few minutes later I went into my room to grab something and the closet door flung open behind me. Startled, I shut the door and tested several things to see if it was a natural occurrence but nothing caused the door to open as before. Looking down I saw that Kinsley was staring warily at the door so I decided to return to the living room. A few minutes later, one of my cats came tearing out of the hall as if something was chasing her. So I have no doubt that something was there. Sometimes I wish my pets wouldn't alert me lol It's fine to deal with them on location but its another story when they invade your home!

I had a strange experience about 10 years ago with my dog. My husband had just left for work, very early in the morning. Around 5:30 I guess. I had the blinds open so the moon was shining in a bit and my dog was sound asleep on the bed beside me. I was awake thinking of all the deceased animals I had lost and feeling very sad when suddenly my dog sat bolt upright and began growling fiercly at something above the chest of drawers. I thought it was shadow so got up and made shadow puppets with my hands above the dresser, but she paid no attention to what I was doing and continued to stare. I was amazed really and laid in bed and watched this go on. Suddenly whatever it was lunged at her and she jumped back and then jumped off the bed to the floor at the foot of the bed, but never took her eyes off the area. This went on for 11 minutes and then she got up and walked off as if nothing happend. My cat had passed away just before we got her and I do wonder if it was my cat messing with her. Maybe my thoughts had brought her there that morning When my other dog was alive he would go up and take her bones from her just because he could. She would do a half growl/half cry sound. Sometime After he died she was on my bed chewing a bone and I was on the puter in the room across the hall. She suddenly started doing the half grow/half cry and looking into the hall just between us. Was my dog there visiting us? I'm thinking maybe Well she passed away a couple weeks ago. Of course I'm devistated. Last night I decided to use a voice activated recorder in our bathroom while we slept. She always liked sleeping in there and I was hoping to get some sounds maybe of shuffling around or bumping the tub or whatever that she would always do. Around 5:15 this morning I was awaken by my cat crying out "Hello". He said it 7 times. He's never said hello before so how odd. Was it Jasmine comming through him saying hello or maybe just coincidence. I do have it on the voice recorder if anyone knows how I can download it here.
